How long is Dokimon Quest?

Updated 2026-08-30
Short answer

Plan on 12 to 20 hours for the main story. HowLongToBeat's polls average about 12 hours for the main story and 18.5 hours for completionists — from a very small sample — while the developer's own Steam page promises a 15–20 hour story mode with post-game beyond it. Steam's global achievement rates are blunter about how far people get: 41.7% of players have caught a single Dokimon, 16.3% have beaten Haru, and 2.8% have completed the main story — an achievement the game literally names "98%".

Answer
Roughly 12–20 hours for the story depending on whose numbers you trust; around 18.5 hours for 100% per HLTB's small sample.
Evidence
Yanako RPGs' own Steam store copy ("Complete a 15–20 hour story mode, with endless post-game content for completionists"), HowLongToBeat's poll averages, and Steam's global achievement percentages captured 2026-08-27.
Rule
Achievement rates measure how far players GET, not how long it takes them — a low completion rate is at least as much about drop-off as about length.
Confidence
The 15–20 hour figure is the developer's published claim; the HLTB figures rest on 3 to 11 polls per category and are quoted with that caveat. The achievement percentages are exact for the day they were captured and will drift. No timed playthrough backs this page.

What the developer says

Yanako RPGs' own description of the game on Steam and on itch.io says the same thing in both places: "Complete a 15–20 hour story mode, with endless post-game content for completionists".

It is a solo developer's estimate of their own game rather than an aggregate of player logs, but it is the only first-party figure that exists, and it is consistent with the game's shape — 69 named areas, 144 Dokimon, and a story that runs from Lillywood to the endgame domains. The store page also advertises 140+ monsters and 15+ towns, and the game carries 44 Steam achievements.

What HowLongToBeat's polls say

HowLongToBeat's community polls land under the developer's estimate: about 12 hours for the main story, 18 hours for main plus sides, 18.5 hours for completionists, and 16 hours across all styles.

Treat those averages gently — the sample sizes are between 3 and 11 polls per category, small enough that one fast or slow player moves the number visibly. Individual Steam reviews are in the same band, with reports of roughly 15 hours to 100% and 12–15 hours of content. Taken together, everything published points at the same range: a focused story run near 12 hours, the developer's 15–20 if you wander, and under 20 for most completion runs.

Reading that funnel honestly

One naming trap first: the story-completion achievement is literally called "98%" — that is its name in the game, a small joke, not its unlock rate. Its actual global unlock rate is 2.8%.

A 2.8% story-completion rate is not evidence that the game is 60 hours long. It is a funnel, and funnels this steep are normal for a game that just had a large influx of new players — the developer's 26 August 2026 announcement opens by celebrating that the game "absolutely DESTROYED our previous peak player count of 167, with 1,700 players online at one time". Most of those people bought it days before the snapshot and have not finished anything yet.

What the funnel does tell you is where players stop. The steepest drop is between opening the game and the first catch: 94.3% launch it, 41.7% catch a Dokimon. Everything after that falls off gently by comparison.

The gap between story completion at 2.8% and the rarest achievements at 1.3% suggests the post-game is real but not enormous — roughly half of the people who finish the story go on to do the rarest content.

What to budget

  • Story, focused: about 12 hours per HowLongToBeat's small sample.
  • Story at the developer's pace: 15–20 hours, the store page's own figure.
  • Story plus side content: around 18 hours per HLTB; there are 69 named areas and a good number are optional.
  • Filling the Mondex: 144 Dokimon, of which 104 carry wild encounter data. The rest come from evolution or other means.
  • All 44 achievements: HLTB's completionist average is ~18.5 hours; the rarest achievements sit at a 1.3% unlock rate.

Length questions, answered

How long is the main story of Dokimon Quest?

Between about 12 hours (HowLongToBeat's poll average, from a small sample) and the developer's own 15–20 hour estimate on the Steam store page.

How long does 100% completion take?

HowLongToBeat's completionist average is about 18.5 hours, from very few polls; one Steam reviewer reported roughly 15 hours to 100%. No large-sample figure exists yet.

How many achievements does Dokimon Quest have?

44 Steam achievements. The rarest — Snazzy! and Finale — sit at a 1.3% global unlock rate.

What percentage of players finish the game?

2.8% had unlocked the story-completion achievement as of 27 August 2026. Confusingly, that achievement is named "98%" in the game — the name is a joke, not the rate.

Is there post-game content?

The developer's store copy promises "endless post-game content for completionists". The achievement data supports something real but bounded: 2.8% finish the story and 1.3% reach the rarest achievements.
