Dokimon Quest walkthrough

Updated 2026-10-13
Short answer

The critical path runs Lillywood → Twindle Forest → Route 01 → Route 02 → Xelos City → Xer's Base (five floors) → Route 03 → Coralwood, and opens up from there — 69 named areas in total. Wild levels climb from 1–2 in Twindle Forest to the high thirties in the endgame areas, which makes them a usable check on whether you are under-levelled. One trap for readers: Routes 01 through 07 each carry a SECOND encounter table in the level-30s that unlocks later — the two tables never mix, so treat every route's levels per table.

Answer
69 named areas, in the order the game's own data lists them, with per-table wild levels.
Evidence
Area order, internal ids, encounter tables, Ranger teams and item placements come from the Steam build of 2026-09-02; the world map image is the game's own asset.
Rule
If the wild Dokimon on a route are more than about three levels above your party, you arrived early. Always read a route's tables separately — a story-level table and a level-30s table on the same route are different populations.
Confidence
Encounter levels and rates are extracted. Chapter 2 Haru/Aki teams and dialogue have been checked against the current Steam build. Play order and the details marked [g] come from the community guide under Sources. Chapters after the return to Coralwood remain the area skeleton. Community-route details marked [g] remain unverified in the current game until a playthrough confirms them.

How to read this

This Dokimon Quest walkthrough covers every named area in the game, in play order.

Areas below are in the order the game's own data stores them, which tracks the critical path closely but is not identical to it — some areas open late, some are optional, and a few are only reachable once you can fly.

Each area's page here carries the full encounter table and rates. Areas with no wild encounters are towns, interiors or connecting maps.

One structural warning that matters for the whole page: Routes 01 through 07 each store TWO encounter tables — the story-level table you meet on the way through, and a second table in the level 30s that appears later. The tables are separate populations and are quoted separately everywhere on this site. A route labelled "2–4" below is its story table; its late table is listed in its own section further down.

Chapters 1 and 2 cover the story from Lillywood through Haru, Aki and the return to Coralwood, with Guardian Ranger teams and key items. Later chapters remain the area skeleton. Numbers come from game files; [g] marks details from the community guide under Sources.

Chapter 1 — Lillywood to Coralwood

The game opens in Lillywood. The intro is Ai getting hurt in Twindle Forest, followed by a flashback to Maiko, the friend who vanished twelve years earlier — finding her is the stated reason you leave town (scene text: "We're going to find her. That's the whole reason we're heading off into this dangerous world"). Your mother hands you Whispurr before you go. Professor Rei's lab is north-east of your house, Ai is at the south-west end of Twindle Forest, and your mother's Momma Radar teleports you home from almost anywhere. [g]

Heading north, Koi stops you for the first real battle — her Quackfil (Dark/Flying). Straight after, Professor Rei catches you at the edge of town with the three elemental starters and the D-Tech: you pick first, Koi takes one of the remaining two, and Ai gets the last one (scene text: "Whichever two you decide, we'll give Ai the remaining one"). Wild encounters start on Route 01, at level 2–4.

Route 01 has four Rangers and all of them rematch, which matters because Ranger battles are the main source of money. Ishikawa's single Carrotti is the safest grind, and the Carrot Expert achievement is tied to him — ten wins. [g] The twin Rangers run Brixlet and Spooklet at level 4, and the Ranger at the north end has a level 5 Pheonix, which is the game's own spelling.

Route 02 is the snowy path west. The Katana is in the box straight north of the route's start; it cuts certain bushes. [g] The road further west is blocked by an officer, so the only way on is the building with two people outside it, and the ladder inside — Xer's Base. [g]

Xer's Base is five floors. On B1 a purple NPC gives you your first Yuujyou Orb, the shared-experience item. [g] B2 and B3 each have one grunt in the way (Flounder ×2, then Jespurr and Moisen). B4 is the grinding floor: one grunt blocks the path with Yomeshi and Shinigam, and four more around a free healer rematch as often as you like. Whispurr is Fairy-type and weak to Ghost, so the Yomeshi/Shinigam fight is the one to respect on this floor. B5 is the Xer boss, whose single Dokimon is a level 12 Mag (Fire). [g] Her exit line sets up the rest of the plot: "This was a small scale information heist, our other bases are the real deal." Orb Shards sit east of the boss room, and the Midnight Captal — an instant catch — is behind a door on B1 that opens once the boss is down.

Back on the surface, Route 03 opens to the north, level 4–9. It carries Patches, the first Electric-type on the story path. The winding path ends at Coralwood. The inn heals; Professor Rena in the lab to the west sends you east through the caves, but a Guardian Ranger has to be beaten first (scene text: "since you're a Dokimon Ranger you'll be able to go there if you defeat Haru"). Haru marks the win with a Gemstone in your Ranger ID Card. Two Orb Shards sit west of town past the Dokimon Ranch. Route 05 to the north is a dead end for now. [g] Chapter 2 picks up with Haru.

Chapter 1 key items

  • Katana — Route 02, in the box straight north of the route's start. Cuts bushes. [g]
  • Yuujyou Orb — Xer's Base B1, from the purple NPC. Shares experience across the party. [g]
  • Orb Shards — Xer's Base B5, east of the boss room. Raises a Dokimon one level.
  • Midnight Captal — Xer's Base B1, behind the door that opens after the boss. Instant capture.
  • Orb Shards ×2 — Coralwood, west past the Dokimon Ranch.

Chapter 2 — Haru, Aki and the return to Coralwood

Speak to Haru by Route 04's pond; enter a Coralwood building, then return. [g] His battle dialogue calls the Flounder companions rather than his battle team. The game files give Haru Furreal Lv 10, Nimbis Lv 12 and Lloudious Lv 13. Winning marks your Ranger ID Card with a Gemstone and opens the caves toward the next town: "you'll be able to pass through the caves".

Enter the right cave. Go right and down through the south passage, then back north through the passage you just used; collect the lava-side chest. [g] Which-way Caves has story encounters at levels 7–12; its full table is linked below. Continue east to Tinywood, then Route 06 and Aki. [g]

Ai joins you for a while. Her scene text confirms that she can heal your monsters while travelling with you. Aki's current team is Mudslip Lv 14, Toxihop Lv 15, Umbral Lv 16 and Jistery Lv 16. After the battle, her dialogue confirms Maiko is alive and explains the next island investigation. Visit Aki's shrine rear for another starter. [g]

Return the cave item to Rena; head through Route 05 for the Surfboard. [g] The Surfboard's game description confirms water travel. Momma Radar returns you home, where the next part of the journey begins. Routes 04, 05 and 06 also have separate level-30s encounter tables; use the story rows below for this chapter, not those later populations.

Are you under-levelled?

The wild encounter levels are the cheapest check available. Twindle Forest spawns at level 1 to 2; Route 01 at 2 to 4; Route 02 at 3 to 7; Route 03 at 4 to 9; Route 07 at 14 to 19 — always reading the story table, not the late one.

If the wild Dokimon on the route you are standing on are consistently three or more levels above your party, you have arrived before the game expected you to, and the fix is usually one more lap of the previous route rather than a better team.

Route questions, answered

How many areas are in Dokimon Quest?

The game's data stores 69 areas, from Lillywood to the endgame domains. Two of them are stored without a proper name and appear as ??? on this site — that is the game's own data, not a gap in the wiki.

What is the route order in Dokimon Quest?

The opening runs Lillywood, Twindle Forest, Route 01, Route 02, Xelos City, the five floors of Xer's Base, Route 03, then Coralwood. After that the map opens up — the full order is on this page.

Why do early routes have level-30 wild Dokimon listed?

Routes 01 through 07 each carry a second encounter table in the level 30s that unlocks later in the game. The story table and the late table are separate — a route's early levels never mix with its late ones.

Which areas have the most wild species?

Wicked Woods (levels 22–29) and The Great Forest (levels 32–40) top the list at 14 species each. Route 15 has 11, and Fairy Island 11.

Where are the Ranger fights and item locations?

Chapters 1 and 2 cover story steps and key items through Haru, Aki and the return to Coralwood. Chapter 2 adds both Guardian Rangers’ current teams and links to each area. Details supplied only by the community guide carry [g]. Later areas still have encounter tables rather than a complete story walkthrough.

Is Wattlet on Route 03?

Not in the 2026-09-02 build's tables. Route 03's story table is Furreal, Casper, Loomleak, Quackfil, Patches and Flounder; Wattlet is on Route 02's table at 9.1%. Some community guides list it on Route 03.
